We are especially looking for skilled volunteers. Crew Leaders commit to leading crews in at least one skilled area (e.g., siding, drywalling, insulation, and painting trim). Work is assigned by the house build leader, according to the skills of the Crew Leader and the build schedule. Regular volunteers commit to contributing at least one day a month and work where they are most needed. On-site training is provided as needed. All volunteers must sign in and complete a waiver form before working on the build site. Lunches for the full crew are donated for each designated build day. Working under the direction of the Volunteer Relations Committee, one or two volunteers take responsibility for food and drink, making sure that it is delivered on time to the work site and cleaned up afterwards. Groups are welcome to prepare meals or simply purchase them from restaurants. While we try our best to accommodate everyone, it is often difficult to place groups on the construction work site due to the group size and lack of available work dates. Habitat for Humanity manages all volunteer intake and scheduling. All volunteers who expect to be on the build site must register at the registration table at the build site. Please complete a Volunteer Interest Profile to let us know about you! Click here to view a sample construction timeline. | |||
